Our on-site digital x-ray machine enables our veterinarians to have diagnostic x-rays available to them in a much shorter time than traditional film x-rays. Instead of using film and developing chemicals, our hospital uses a digital system that produces higher quality, precise x-rays that are easily archived, recalled, and produced faster than the outdated technology of film based x-ray machines. Also, the digital format can be easily sent to a veterinary radiologist for interpretation and consultation as needed.
High quality radiographs are often essential in making or confirming a diagnosis. Radiographs are an integral part in the evaluation of several conditions including fractures, hip dysplasia, heart disease, lung disease, and urinary tract disease to name just a few. We also offer PennHip and OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) screening for hip and elbow dysplasia.
