The University of Pennsylvania Hip Improvement Program is a research based hip-screening procedure that has proven to be the most accurate and precise method to measure hip laxity (looseness). Hip laxity is the best predictor for the development of hip dysplasia and osteoarthritis and can be measured as early as 16 weeks of age. An early estimate of a dog’s hip integrity is invaluable, whether the dog’s intended purpose is for breeding, working, or as a family pet.
